Good capture Jeremy.

Maybe a little sharper.

I love that color picture also.

sharpness is not perfect indeed... i used a 150mm lens and it was 50% cropped, so its pushing my camera and lens to the limit :)

Nice composition, on the other side I'd consider cropping from left. :)

I think I would prefer the coloured version myself. A great capture to get though - the prey in the beak and all. Very nice.

ye, i think colour would be better, still a nice shot.

Good capture of this great tit with a caterpillar. Pretty sharp for a 50% crop.
These guys have nice colours, and seems like you had a neat background. Why b&w? :)

BW looked better to me...
i added colour version in link, check for yourself ;)

everseen : composition would be less interesting that way

Conceptually this is good, especially with the grub in its mouth. The branch hanging down just to birds' left makes composition appear to be split along it. A slightly different angle may have reduced the branches impact on the composition. This version lacks dark areas everything is more or less gray throughout except for the bird, which makes it less interesting. Color version though has good saturation, yet still lacks in the darks.

Very good capture and beautiful diagonal composition!
I would increase the contrast of the B&W with levels or curves.
I prefer the color version, it has more tonalities.....and I would try to increase the whites in it....Good work Jeremy!

Master Carlos said it all! I liked the colour version a bit more for the tonalities already mentioned by master Carlos.

You need a better zooming capability imo.

Only good telezoom and lots of patience works for birds... ;)

I like the B&W treatment. It's too bad the focus is perfect on the tail and not the head but still a very good shot. I find autofocus to be extremely frustrating when shooting these types of shots. I'm looking forward to the day I get a camera with a manual focus ring to be able to be selective in exactly which area is in perfect focus especially in a crowded background scene.

indeed Gary
the autofocus on reflex camera is better and faster than compact ones
but still hard to use sometimes with small object moving fast :)
