@troublesleeping:

Come on man, you have to separate between taking bird captures in captivity ie a zoo compared to out in the wilderness. I think the "real" captures are taken out in the wilderness. In the zoo it is a no brainer to get close up and aim and fire off. I just did myself on my last post.

On the other hand this is a nice shot - Well done Jeremy.

Still I find it a bit geaky to give you these superlatives.

What is the difficulty - Aim and fire off! :p

You did well though.

The post editing with the background looks good.

Still I think you very seldom challenge yourself enough. Try do something outside of your safety zone for once... ;)

This really is stunning, but it's able to work on black because of the subject. The textures the bird has makes this interesting. It would be much harder to do this successfully with a background. Shooting a bird like this against a plain background is more like a portrait of a human, so we attach some personification to this bird and its character. Unless you want to go down that conceptual route of making birds into humans, then this works by chance. It would be hard to replicate again, so try to work on taking these birds in a setting no matter how horrible they look at first. +10

indeed that was my idea with this picture (to make it like an human portrait). I did the same with "family portrait 1".

This is awesome. The lighting and the pose give the bird a ton of personality. It does indeed kinda remind of a human.

Technically nothing can be said against this. Zoo enclosure or not, this portrait is just beautiful.

Nice shot, agree with Moser, he has a strong point....!!!
Beautiful bird, nice lighting, some areas like tha back of the head and the beak are abit soft, maybe because of the background procesing...!!!

Nice colors, lighting and framing!

Edit:
Wait a minute, I've just read this "I completly removed the background wich was not good ", how did you do that? Lasso tool? So, I think you should post this artwork as a manipulation. Right? ;)

Avatar blackshad

 01/11/08 @782

actually i selected it , feathered and darkened
i don't think it belongs to photomanip thought, the user is told that i removed the BG... the main subject isnt been manipulated in any way so it would looks weird in photomanip

Nice shot. Detail colour and compostion all look great to me. I think maybe Figure might be a better subcategory than Nature.
Top marks.
