Description

hello gfx
long time since i posted something... i was very busy with work :( now i have more free time so ill comment more and do some new pictures... i Have 2 to post now... here comes the first one

the light conditions were difficult, the place is surrounded by huge trees, making the light uneven... the sky was also kind of boring that day.

here is some infos about the place :

Imaginative King Leopold II wanted to build copies of famous buildings from around the world on his property. Architect Alexandre Marcel was assigned the task of designing the Chinese Pavillon and the kiosk. Finished in 1904, it was built entirely of wood and now contain many artifacts crafted in Shanghai. Inside this exotic building you can find a splendid mixture of 19th century Chinese furniture, porcelain and European paintings from the 17th, 18th and 19th century.

comments and critics welcome as usual. ill post the other picture soon ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR ;)

Welcome back Jeremy.

Seems like you dealt well with most problems. It is a nice architecture, good composition and sharpness. It could only use some more interesting sky. Before going for the next attempt, check the forecast. ;)

Happy and productive 2008.

The uneven lighting doesn't bother me as I think it adds some contrast. I think the wall and trees somewhat overpower the building however. I might have tried moving closer and shooting this along the top of the wall, using it to lead the eye into the building. Just an idea.
Good to see you posting again. Happy New Year!

moving closer might be possible, i tried a lot of different position but this was the best result. I do agree with the wall and trees overpowering the building over the sky.

Nice black and white photo, though I wish there were some more tonal contrast between the sky and foreground.

Nice image, but need a true black and white point, adjust the contrast !

A nice shot. I don't think the sky does anything for this image. Cropping to just above the building will place more emphasis on the building versus the sky.

The position of the camera is a little low for my liking and the grey clouds really bring it down a little. But the building itself is beautiful. Keep it up. +7

Nice shot, but i find the tree on the right abit distracting and donīt really like the roof on the left, agree with Gary about moving closer, the perspective is too low and canīt really see the details on the building,, sky is abit boring....!!!
